Annotated Partnership Agreement 2015 (September 29, 2015)

When we saw this new book available through Carswell, we immediately put in an order for a copy for the library. We don’t tend to get a lot of questions having to do with Quebec, so if you’re like us and a bit lost when it comes to the law of la belle province, this book might give you some much needed clarity. Written for non-French speaking, common law legal professionals, the book provides a history of the Quebec legal system, information on how to research Quebec legislation, case law, and commentary sources, and a very thorough glossary of terms.

This book is so new to the library that we don’t even have it on the shelves yet. If you would like to review it right away, please ask at the front desk. In the coming weeks, you’ll be able to find this book in our Reference section at KF 240 M37 2015.

After compiling the list for these last two months, I was quite surprised and pleased to see the wide breadth of materials we acquired for the CCLA Library.  There’s so much interesting reading in the list below – certainly something for just about everyone – so stop by sometime and check out the new titles.  The usual reminder: we receive all the print materials from LSUC CPD sessions, usually within a month or two of the program.  They’re stored among rest of the text collection, and if you need a hand finding a specific title, just let us know!

The Library did not acquire too many new text books in the first two months of the year.  Legal publishing tends to ramp up in the late Winter / early Spring (so right about now!), so we’ll be putting in some new orders starting today.  If you’ve seen something advertised that you think looks interesting, let us know!  We always welcome suggestions for purchase.

We did, however, acquire a goodly amount of CPD materials.  We received papers from our friends at the Middlesex and Hamilton Law Associations, in addition to those papers from the Law Society.   The full list is below, where there is sure to be something of interest to everyone.
